Sometimes the byways open to all traffic [BOATS] and droves are closed for maintenance or due to large influx of people on Solstices - - for any queries:

"TTROs" are temporary Traffic Regulation Orders made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, applied when it is necessary to control traffic along a right of way.
Wiltshire Council provide a searchable register of temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in place across the County.

Jan 2016 Totem markers are still awaited after grassing over of old A344 road
March 2013 - reply toSGWI query to English Heritage re future of TOTEM POLES' markers in present Stonehenge car park
According to the planners, the developers will mark the Mesolithic post holes and tree throws with some sensitively designed low level markers. The design is still being worked out. They will be representative of the items that once stood there but will not seek to replicate them. They will not be like the markers at Stonehenge.
